The 1st International Scientific Conference "InnoWineRussia 2017" was held at Vinorus

Vinorus, the 20th International exhibition of wines and alcoholic beverages took place in Krasnodar on April 25-27, 2017.
50 companies from 5 countries (Armenia, Italy, Serbia, France and Russia) exhibited on a space covering around 900 sqm. Over four days, the exhibitions were attended by 4 400 visitors (including InterFood Krasnodar, FoodTech Krasnodar and Kubanprodexpo).

There were three sections to the exhibition: "Wines and Alcoholic Beverages", "Wine accessories", "Materials and Technologies for Viticulture". The sections give the public best wines of the South Russia, planting stock, protection means, cultivation technology, grape harvesters and mechanical aids.

"Vinorus presents a large number of wineries, farms, garage and family wineries and a rich variety of wine products and materials for the production of wine. This is very important, because one of the serious problems in our country is to promote the production and consumption of wine produced from Russian grapes. Through the work of the Ministry of agriculture of Russia viticulture and winemaking is related to the priority projects, and we have every reason to believe that the wine industry has a great future", said representative of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture Evgeny Akhpashev in his welcome speech at the opening ceremony.

Southern Russia Tasting Competition was held in the framework of the fair according to the current standard for international wine competitions established by the International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV). Wineries, farmers and wine trading companies were invited to take part in the competition. All types of table wines, sparkling wines, fruit wines, sweet wines, wine drinks and distillates were also welcomed. All wine samples were tasted by Russian and international wine judges. Totally 276 wine samples were presented at the competition. The winners were awarded with 10 bronze, 20 silver and 62 gold medals. Among them are such Russian wine manufacturers as: Fanagoria, Kuban Vino, Abrau Durso, Avrora, Millerovsky Wine Factory, Massandra and other.

The 1st International Scientific Conference «Innovative World of Modern Viticulture and Winemaking: Russia» (InnoWineRussia 2017) was organised under the high patronage of International Organization of Vine and Wine for the first time at Vinorus.

InnoWineRussia 2017 covered scientific and technical trends in world viticulture and winemaking, pressing issues of wine products quality and safety and theoretical and legal aspects of modern marketing. The main part of the programme included reports on innovative technologies of cultivation, standardization and compliance, microbiology, metabolomics, analytics, information support. About 150 delegates discussed the role of promotion of wines from autochthonous grape varieties, wine tourism, restaurant and hotel business in enhancing reputation of Russian wines on national and international markets.

InnoWineRussia 2017 brought together Russian and foreign experts, scholars, specialists, businessmen and public officials, representatives of national associations and industry unions from foreign countries, industrial, commercial, specialized R&D institutions from Russia , EAEC countries and viticulture and winemaking regions of the world.

The conference was organised by the Union of Viticulturists and Winemakers of Russia, Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, KrasnodarEXPO with support of Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, Administration of Krasnodar Region, Ministry of Agriculture and Processing Industry of Krasnodar Region.
